The kick-off meeting of the EXPLORE+ creative exploration of curiosity for innovative transdisciplinary, STEAM and social learning project under the European Erasmus+ Programme Strategic Partnerships for Creativity (KA227) was held on October 21-22th.
With partners from cities that are involved in European Capital of Culture application processes, this project connects schools and civil society in a Strategic Partnership to implement STEAM methodologies (acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) in a perspective of interdisciplinary work in the school curriculum and the introduction of creative and artistic methodologies in the educational process.
In Faro, the partnership includes ES Pinheiro e Rosa and Museu Zer0, invited by the structure dedicated to the preparation of Faro's proposal to become the European Capital of Culture 2027.
Based on the Essential Learning of the different subjects of the Scientific and Humanistic Courses, during two school years activities will be developed, tested and systematised in the Secondary Education classes of AE Pinheiro e Rosa, using STEAM methodology, using STEAM methodology, with the support of Zer0 Museum as part of its cultural mediation work for Digital Art. This project is part of the School Cultural Project of the Pinheiro e Rosa School Grouping, within the National Arts Plan and will include: 3 study visits to the countries involved; the implementation of an Arts and Technology Fair and the creation of an Activity Manual with the developed work and a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to disseminate the Manual, in addition to holding a final conference in the framework of the Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2023 programme.
