About the project

Mar Motto is an exhibition, organised by Sciaena, which aims to be an innovative vehicle for education and awareness-raising on an urgent issue that many still prefer to close their eyes to - the fragility of the ocean and the need to protect the beings that inhabit it. The concept of Mar Motto is simple: use art as a way of alerting to what humanity has done to destroy marine ecosystems, but above all, how everyone can contribute to recover and conserve them.
The pieces come from artists from various artistic backgrounds, with the aim of producing a diverse and dynamic exhibition. Each artist is challenged to display a piece that expresses their deepest feelings about the sea, the urgency of protecting it and that inspires each of us to make a difference.​


New European Bauhaus Framework

Mar Motto aims to raise public awareness about the importance of sustainability as a way to protect the ocean through art. Thus, a link is created between art, nature and the public for a forum for discussion, sharing, contemplation and reflection.​
