​Inclusion and social cohesion must be nurtured throughout the municipality, bringing together and creating bridges between different “neighbourhoods” and communities in Faro
EXPERIENCE THEIR HERITAGE​

​Faro's population don't know their heritage or what their city offers, culturally. Opportunities must be developed through which they are able to experience their heritage and culture.
MOBILISING AGENT

Faro's bid for European Capital of Culture 2027 must act as a mobilising agent; a catalyst for the changes necessary.

OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE

​No effective mechanisms exist to ensure community participation in the projects, or their continuity. Opportunities for participation, proximity and dialogue between communities, organisations and public entities must be created as a matter of urgency.

FINDING A MIDDLE GROUND

Finding a middle ground between tourism and community development is a significant challenge. The current level of tourism is already endangering the emancipation of Faro's younger population, the availability of student accommodation and the community as a whole.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

Communications relating to cultural and dynamic events in the municipality are ineffective. Effective, efficient communication has the potential to unite audiences!​
