The MI.MO.MO.FARO project, developed within the scope of the Faro Candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2027, promotes the first in a series of round tables dedicated to modernist architecture. “Faro, Modernist City in Southern Europe” is the theme of this online event, accessible to the public through the Facebook page @ Faro2027, which takes place on March 25, at 6:30 pm. This round table, moderated by Tiago Candeias, brings together three architects, deeply knowledgeable about modernist architecture in the region and in the city: Teresa Valente, Ricardo Agarez and Gonçalo Vargas. In an informal environment, these guests will discuss topics such as: the history of modernist architecture in Faro, the characteristics and specificities of the city's emblematic buildings, as well as their conservation and requalification. The MI.MOMO.FARO project thus intends to bring the main themes of the Candidature of Faro to the European Capital of Culture 2027 to public discussion, among them: the valorization of cultural heritage as a legacy for future generations and institutional cooperation in urban regeneration .
