If science and technology intersect with art and culture to build a sustainable, inclusive and beautiful world? If the construction of a new model of society were to build bridges, between thinkers and entrepreneurs, with a view to discovering innovative solutions to complex problems? "Discover the New Bauhaus" is the theme of the first online session to present the project the New European Bauhaus. A session promoted by a set of regional partners, namely Associação Designers do Sul, Associação Al Mouatamid Ibn Abbad, the European Commission representation in Portugal, Europe Direct Algarve, CCDR Algarve and Faro2027 European Capital of Culture Candidacy. Accessible to the public through the Facebook or Youtube @ Faro2027 page, “Discover the New Bauhaus” takes place on March 24, at 10 am, and includes the participation of the European Commission representative in Portugal, Rory Campbell.
This online event also includes leading figures in the field of arts and architecture, Ana Sousa, professor and coordinator of the Research Group in Art Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and Architect José Alberto Alegria, a pioneer in Portugal the renewal of geo-architecture. In the online session “Discover the New Bauhaus”, in addition to the presentation of the European New Bauhaus, the network of partners in the Algarve will also be presented, as well as discussing the region's potential and contribution to the project. The New European Bauhaus is an interdisciplinary creative movement, open to all, which aims to mobilize designers, architects, engineers, scientists, students and creative minds to, within the scope of the European Ecological Pact, improve the quality of life experience, through the creation of more affordable and accessible spaces, the reinvention of sustainable lifestyles and financial support for innovative ideas and projects.
